Who do you think you’re marketing to?

Check this out:

* Did you know that young adults spend 40% more time online vs. watching TV,
19.3 hours per week online vs.13.5 hours per week watching TV according to the Youth Marketing Agency
* The Annual Tech Tribe Report surveyed 2,800 individuals between the ages of 16-25 years old and found that 25% of them spend at least 4 hours per day online.
* 89% of young adults have some form of social network (i.e. Myspace, Facebook, etc…)
* 76% of the respondents download at least one song per month
* 45% download TV programs
* 41% download Software

computerscreen The 16-35 year old demographic is your future customer base. Face it: they will eventually get old and replace the baby-boomer business that you get, if that’s you. If you make kids’ toys, these are the folks who are going to be making the kids that will need your toys. If you don’t cater to either of these categories, you probably already KNOW that this is your key demographic.

What are you doing to attract them to your business?

Younger customers have not known a life without internet: using blogs, chats, tweets, e-mails, digital communication and the ever-expanding world of technology. This demographic expects immediate access to technology, is constantly seeking information and requires instant gratification. Over 71% of those individuals will choose the web first when seeking products or services. How does your marketing presence stand up to this fact? Is it viral? Is your site constantly evolving and changing? Is your site maximized for search engines spiders to crawl through and seek key words? Does your competitor outrank your business on search engine results? Do you know how you can improve your rankings?

There is no single solution to marketing a business or a product. Rather, it is a combination of coding, SEO methods, a variety of mediums and a willingness to branch out into new techniques – even brand NEW techniques – that will get results.

Oh, and if you advertise in the Yellow Pages for whatever reason, please give us a call and let us buy you coffee. There’s no need to be ashamed but you need help. Trust me. We WILL save you money.
